'Seagull Sunset' Linoprint

Original three-layer reduction linoprint inspired by winter sunsets on the Jurassic Coast.

This is printed by hand from a hand-carved lino block using traditional printing techniques. It is a three-layer reduction linocut, a method of block printing in which each colour layer is taken from the same block. More lino is removed from the block for each layer and each colour is printed on top of the last. This means that an entire edition must be printed in one go – once you have carved into the block for the next layer, you can’t go back to print more. For this reason, it is sometimes referred to as the ‘kamikaze’ printmaking. This is a Limited Edition of just 10 prints.

• Available unmounted or mounted with a soft white mount (outer dimensions approx 27.5 x 35cm). Mounting is an additional cost of £15.
